.54" Triassic Theropod Dinosaur (Coelophysis) Tooth - Texas

This is the tooth of a small, Triassic-aged theropod of the species Coelophysis bauri. The specimen was collected from the Cooper Canyon Formation in Crosby County, Texas. It measures .54" long and has a partial root.

Coelophysis was a small, slenderly-built, ground-dwelling, bipedal, carnivorous theropod that could grow up to about 10 feet in length. It is one of the earliest known dinosaur genera.
