1.2" Devil Horned Cyphaspis Walteri Trilobite

Here is nice example of the Devonian trilobite Cyphaspis walteri sometimes referred to as the "Devil Horn" Cyphaspis for obvious reasons. This is a nicely presented example of this spiny Moroccan Otarionidae trilobite. The two horns on it's head have been prepared free of the limestone but the other spines are still attached to the matrix.

This species was finally formally described in 2014. A link to the paper can be found below.
