Pennsylvanian Fossil Fern (Neuropteris) - Kentucky

This is a 1.7" fossil fern (Neuropteris) frond, from the Breathitt Formation, Leslie County, Kentucky. This frond has seven branches. Neuropteris is an extinct family of seed ferns from the Late Carboniferous, Pennsylvanian aged forests that formed the coal shales of Eastern Kentucky and Ohio.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.
