12.5" Plate Of Gastropods, Brachiopods, Etc - Waldron Shale, Indiana
This is a really cool, plate representing the sea bottom during the Silurian period. It is a 12.5 x 4.8" section of shale from the Waldron Shale of Indiana covered in fossil gastropods (Platystoma), brachiopods (Stegerzhynchus), crinoid stem & holdfast pieces (Eucalyptocrinites) and some trilobite pieces (Calymene breviceps)
Given how hard the rock is, this piece took a substantial amount of time to prepare.
