This is a beautiful 19.5" tortoise (Stylemys nebrascensis) from the Brule Formation in Wyoming. It is inflated and quite large, though it is crushed in some areas. Most of the crushing is notable along the edges, with several marginal scutes missing or requiring crack repair. The ventral side of the shell is mostly intact, though some portions of the shell are fragmented and required gap fill restoration. Some of the costal scutes broke away from the specimen and weren't recovered. The costal scutes that were recovered have been repaired and remounted back to the shell. Partial limb bones of the tortoise have been exposed from the rock in two of the openings where the legs would have been.

The shell measures 19.5 x 15.5 x 6.5" and weighs just over 75 lbs.
