This is a nifty, 2.3" fossilized whale inner ear bone (Tympanic Bulla) that is Miocene in age. It was collected in the Southeast United States (Georgia or South Carolina) where they are found in river deposits associated with Megalodon teeth and other fossil shark teeth.
