2.35" Mammoth Molar Slice With Case - South Carolina

This is a interesting, cross-sectional slice of a Columbia Mammoth (Mammuthus columbi) molar collected from the coastal region of South Carolina. It comes with a riker mount display case.

The Columbian mammoth was one of the last members of the North American megafauna to go extinct: its date of extinction generally is set at approximately 12,500 years ago. The Columbian mammoth was a savanna and grassland inhabitant, similar to the modern African elephant. Large males grew to about 13 feet tall at the shoulder and weighed up to 7 tons, with tusks that could grow as long as the mammoths were tall.
