2.61" Fossil Great White Shark Tooth - South Carolina

This is a 2.61" long fossil great white shark (Carcharodon carcharias) tooth. It comes from the Hawthorn Formation in South Carolina which is Miocene in age. These fossil great white teeth are much rarer than the Megalodon teeth which they are associated with. The serrations are heavily worn but still visible. It it quite large for the species and has good root preservation.
