2.9" Ordovician Starfish (Petraster?) - Morocco

This is a 2.9" wide, Ordovician aged starfish of the genus Petraster. It comes from the Tioririne Formation near Blekus, Morocco. The specimen shows an amazing amount of detail and the natural, orange coloration is due to the oxidization of iron pyrite.

There is a repaired crack through this rock that goes directly through the starfish. There is some restoration to the starfish along this repaired crack. It comes with an acrylic display stand.
