Two Fossil Bird Tracks - Green River Formation, Utah

This is a 5.4" plate of 2 fossil bird tracks from the Green River Formation, Utah. These tracks are likely sandpiper, plover or other small wading shore bird and were left on the southwestern shore of Eocene, Lake Uinta nearly 50 million years ago. The tracks are now preserved in a platy limestone horizon known as the "Soldier Summit Fossil Track Horizon". There are several repaired cracks in the rock and the thin slap has been backed with another slab of shale for stability, hence the bargain price.
