.29" Raptor (Richardoestesia?) Tooth - Montana

This is a .29" raptor tooth from the Hell Creek Formation of Carter County, Montana. Most collectors would consider a tooth of this morphology to come from Richardoestesia, though this genus has not been formerly described from the Hell Creek Formation.

The tooth comes in a small, acrylic display case.

The 2013 study found that Acheroraptor was the only dromaeosaurid from the Hell Creek Formation and concluded that dromaeosaurid teeth that had been attributed to other taxa should be identified as Acheroraptor. Any other identification is not supported scientifically until associated skeletal remains are found to indicate otherwise. Most collectors remain unconvinced though.
