3.4" Pliocene Fossil Scallop (Chesapecten) - North Carolina

This is a beautiful fossil scallop (Chesapecten madisonius) half that was collected from the Pliocene age Yorktown Formation in Aurora, North Carolina. The surrounding rock has been completely cleaned away from the specimen. This specimen is covered in small spines that line the ribs and valleys of the shell.

Comes with an acrylic display stand.
