.3" Fossil Samara (Winged Seed) - Green River Formation, Utah

This is a beautifully preserved .3" fossil winged seed pod from the Green River Formation in Uintah County, Utah. Preservation of this specimen is excellent and shows the veins in the wing and shape of the seed.

While this formation is best known for well preserved fossil fish found in Wyoming, other sections of the formation contain a very diverse selection of flora fossils.
