4.1" Ordovician Brittle Star (Ophiura) With Carpoid - Morocco

This is a 4.1" wide, fossil brittle star (Ophiura) from the Kataoua Formation of Morocco. It is Ordovician in age, approximately 450 million years old. The bright orange coloration is natural and due to the oxidization of iron pyrite. In addition to the brittle star, this specimen contains an unidentified carpoid. This specimen has a repaired crack.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.
