Bargain, 4.3" Ordovician Brittle Star (Ophiura) - Morocco
This is a 4.3" wide fossil brittle star (Ophiura sp.) from the Kataoua Formation of Morocco. It is Ordovician in age, approximately 450 million years old. The red-orange coloration is natural and due to the oxidization of iron pyrite.
It comes with an acrylic display stand.
The two legs on the small section of attached rock are from another brittle star. This plate is a composite.
