4.3" Multiple Fossil Leaf Plate - Green River Formation, Utah

This is a 4.3" wide slab of shale containing three flora fossils, one of which is on the opposite side of the rock. The two leaves on one side of the plate are of the species Cardiospermum coloradensis and Rhus nigricans, and the back side of the plate contains a beautifully detailed horsetail fossil of the species Equisetum winchesteri. This specimen was collected from the Green River Formation in Utah.

While the Green River Formation is best known for its fish fossils from Wyoming, other areas produce incredible plant fossils.
