4.6" Pennsylvanian Fossil Plant (Lycopodites) Plate - Kentucky

This is a fossil plant (Lycopodites sp.) plate from the Breathitt Formation of Leslie County, Kentucky. This fossil is from the Late Carboniferous, Pennsylvanian aged forests that formed the coal shales of Kentucky and Ohio. Lycopodites was an herbaceous plant, meaning it did not have a woody stem and its stalks were green and fairly soft.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.
