6.4" Ordovician Brittle Star (Ophiura) - Morocco

This is a large, 6.4" wide, fossil brittle star (Ophiura) from the Kataoua Formation of Morocco. It is Ordovician in age, approximately 450 million years old. The orange coloration is natural and due to the oxidization of iron pyrite.

There is a repaired crack running through the rock and the fossil. About half of one of the arms has been restored.

Comes with an acrylic display stand.
