.6" Seed Fossil - Green River Formation, Utah

This is a beautifully preserved .6" long fossil seed from the Green River Formation in Uintah County, Utah. Preservation of this specimen is excellent and shows the fossil in great detail. It was labelled as "gnetopsis", however this is very unlikely.

While this formation is best known for well preserved fossil fish found in Wyoming, other sections of the formation contain a very diverse selection of flora fossils.
