Bargain, 2.5" Asaphus Plautini Trilobite - Russia

This is a bargain, 2.5" long, prone specimen in Asaphus plautini, one of the scarcer of the many species of Asaphid trilobites found near St. Petersburg, Russia. It was found at the Vilpovitsy quarry and is Lower Ordovician in age, or approximately 460 million years old.

Like nearly all of the Asaphid trilobites found in these quarries there is some degree of shell restoration. Most it appears to be on the head of this trilobite.
