Bargain 3.55" Auriculatus Shark Tooth - Dakhla, Morocco

This is a serrated tooth of the mega-toothed shark, Carcharocles auriculatus. It is believed Carcharocles auriculatus was closely related to the Megalodon but lived nearly 10-20 million years earlier.

This tooth was collected from the Late Eocene aged deposits of the Western Sahara Desert in Morocco. It's 3.55" long and the serrations are still razor sharp. While the blade is in nice shape there is a lot of repair and restoration work to the root and cusps.
