Bargain 3D Reedops Trilobite Fossils

These are authentic Reedops trilobite fossils quarried near Atchana, Morocco. These trilobites were found encased in hard limestone and have been prepared using mechanical tools to expose their detailed shell.

They are quite 3D and range from about 1 to 1 1/2" long. Some are prone, while some are partially enrolled. These are real trilobite fossils, not molds or casts. You can see eye facet preservation in many of the specimens. They are not perfect, many will have areas of shell restoration, surface weathering, or airscribe scratches from preparation. They are a great value for the price.

The photos are representative of the trilobites being sold, but are not the exact specimens that you will receive.

Trilobites were a very diverse group of extinct marine arthropods. They first appeared in the fossil record in the Early Cambrian (521 million years ago) and went extinct during the Permian mass extinction (250 million years ago). They were one of the most successful of the early animals on our planet: over 25,000 species have been described, filling nearly every evolutionary niche. Due in large part to their hard exoskeletons (shells), they left an excellent fossil record.
