Bargain 4.5" Drotops Trilobite

This is a bargain example of the giant phacopid trilobite Drotops megalomanicus. The tubercles, bumps and some of the eye facets can easily be seen. You can see the natural calcite seems running through the rock and the trilobite. It would be around 4.5" long if it was fully outstretched. There is about 15% shell restoration on this specimen, mainly on the tail and right right of the head, hence the bargain price.

How a Drotops might be found in the field, with part of the tail exposed in the broken rock. It would then be prepared using airscribes and air abrasives a process that would likely take 20+ hours for a good specimen..
