Bug Eyed Coltraneia Trilobite - 2.3"

This is a Coltraneia trilobite with amazing "tower eyes" full of hundreds of eye facets. The species has often been referred to as a a Treveropyge in the past. This one is preserved in an arched position and would be about 2.2" long if outstretched. Interestingly probably about 75% of Coltraneia are preserved in this arched position. It leads one to wonder if this the position it sat in the mud, peering out over the ocean floor with it's huge eyes when it was buried by a mud slide. No restoration on this specimen.
