"Devil Horned" Cyphaspis Walteri Trilobite - 1.45"

 
 
 
Here is nice example of the Devonian trilobite Cyphaspis walteri sometimes referred to as the "Devil Horn" Cyphaspis. It is nicely prepared with the long axial spine carefully prepared free of the matrix. There is about 5% restoration on this specimen, mostly along the crack through the upper part of the thorax, and part of the left genal spine.

This species was finally formally described in 2014. A link to the paper can be found below.
