This is a very large Ophiura brittle star fossils from the Kataoua Formation of Morocco. It's 7.7" wide and nicely centered an a solid slab of limestone. These Ophiura brittle stars are Ordovician in age, or approximately 450 million years. The dark orange coloration is due to the oxidization of iron pyrite.
