Long Spined Cyphaspis Eberhardiei Trilobite

Here is an example of the trilobite Cyphaspis eberhardiei sometimes referred to as a long-spined Cyphaspis or long-spined Otarion. This species of the order Proetida has long stalk eyes, a very granulose bulbous cephalon and elongated spines.

Note: There are many specimens of this trilobite on the market where the spines have been faked or artificially lengthened. The left genal spine is not broken, it's naturally shorter than the right now. Only part of the spine coming off of the axis is in place, it would have been much longer, it's just the piece of rock it was in is missing. The specimen has a few repaired cracks where the rock was broken during collection but no restoration.
