13.8" Plate Of Ordovician Brittle Stars (Ophiura) - Morocco

This is three fossil brittle stars (Ophiura) from the Kataoua Formation of Morocco. It is Ordovician in age, approximately 450 million years old. The bright orange coloration is natural and due to the oxidization of iron pyrite. The center brittle star is 5.9" wide. This specimen has three repaired cracks.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.
