Two Ordovician Brittle Stars (Ophiura) - Morocco

This is a pair of fossil brittle stars (Ophiura) from the Kataoua Formation of Morocco. They are Ordovician in age, approximately 450 million years old. The orange coloration is natural and due to the oxidization of iron pyrite. The larger of the two brittlestars is 4.8" wide and the smaller is 3.3" wide. There is a repaired crack running through the center of the rock with some restoration along the crack repair.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.
