RUBY IN KYANITE AND FUCHSITE (JEWELRY)

Often labelled as "ruby in kyanite", this material is actually rubies that are surrounded with a blue-green kyanite rim, which are further surrounded by a fuchsite, muscovite, and quartz matrix. Under both short and long-wave ultraviolet light, the natural rubies within the stone exhibit a stunning red fluorescence. The material comes from the Madikeri area of India.
