1.2" Adularescent Moonstone Pendant (Necklace) - 925 Sterling Silver
This is an eye-catching, 1.2" tall (including loop) moonstone pendant. This material was collected from India and is truly gorgeous, revealing a brilliant blue adularescent flash when tilting back and forth. The stone has been set in to sterling silver, and is accompanied by a 24", silver-plated snake chain necklace. You will receive the exact pendant pictured.
Moonstone is a common and well-known gemstone that earned its name from its white to bluish "glowing" appearance in the light, caused by a phenomenon similar to chatoyance called adularescence. This light play is a result of albite crystals within the main orthoclase feldspar crystal lattice that form as a scale-like crystal formation. The light then reflects and scatters off of these formations, resulting in what appears to be a glow from beneath the surface of the stone. Good quality moonstone can have almost a bluish adularescence.
