1.9" Thomsonite (Zeolite) On Heulandite - Maharashtra, India

This is a stunning, 1.9" wide, high quality specimen of the zeolite thomsonite, collected from the Deccan Traps (the world largest basalt flow) in Maharashtra, India. Thomsonite is one of the rarest zeolites found in the volcanic rocks in the area. The fuzzy balls of thomsonite have a brown-peach coloration with the largest formation measuring .9" across.

Small, gemmy heulandite crystals can be found protruding from the red-brown matrix, surrounding the thomsonite "blobs" that seemingly ooze across the specimen.
