10.6" Polished Noreena Jasper Slab - Australia

This is a very colorful, 10.6" wide, slab of Noreena Jasper from the Hamersley Basin in Australia. It has been polished to a mirror like finish on one side. This slab comes with an acrylic display stand.

Noreena Jasper is a type of jasper that is named after the Noreena Hills in Western Australia, where it is found. It is known for its unique, colorful patterns that can include shades of red, orange, yellow, and green.

It is a silicified pelite (mudstone) which occurs in the Jeerinah Formation. It was deposited during the Late Archean or an astounding 2.7 billion years ago! Due to its unique, colorful patterning it is often used jewelry and as a decorative stone.
