2.7" Thomsonite (Zeolite) On Stilbite - Maharashtra, India

This is a beautiful, 2.7" long specimen containing the zeolite thomsonite from the Maharashtra province of India. Thomsonite is one of the rarest zeolites found in the volcanic rocks in the area. The fuzzy balls of thomsonite have a brown-peach coloration with the largest formation measuring 1.3" across.

Small stilbite crystals can be found protruding from the orange heulandite encrusted surface of the matrix, surrounding the thompsonite "blob" that seem to ooze across the specimen.
