3.2" Thomsonite (Zeolite) and Stilbite - Maharashtra, India

This is a beautiful, 3.2" wide specimen containing the zeolite thomsonite, collected from the Maharashtra province of India. Thomsonite is one of the rarest zeolites found in the volcanic rocks in the area. The fuzzy balls of thomsonite have a brown-peach coloration with the largest formation measuring 1" across.

Small stilbite crystals can be found protruding from the orange heulandite encrusted surface of the matrix, surrounding the thompsonite "blob" that seemingly oozes across the specimen.
