2" Normandite & Aegirine On Feldspar - Russia

This is a 2" wide association of normandite, aegirine, and feldspar that was collected from Putelichorr Mountain in Russia. The normandite bears red-orange coloration and formed as radiating, acicular crystals within white feldspar. It's naturally associated with dense sprays of lustrous black aegirine crystals.

Mount Putelichorr has an elevation of 3576 ft, and is located in the Khibiny Massif of Murmansk Oblast, Russia. The mountain features a pegmatite occurrence in massive khibinite which is known for the large eudialyte crystals it produces. The eudialyte is often accompanied by masses of dense, fine-acicular aegirine aggregations that bear green coloration. Other notable minerals collected from this mountain include feldspar, titanite, normandite, Åkermanite, diopside, fluorapatite, forsterite, titanite, and spinel, with a variety of additional minerals that commonly occur in massive forms.
