FUCHSITE SPECIMENS
Fuchsite, also known as chrome mica, is a dark green, chromium-rich variety of the mineral muscovite.
Fuchsite chert, also commonly referred to as "Dragon Stone", is cryptocrystalline quartz stone metamorphosed from fuchsite. It was formed when the fuchsite vein was subjected to intense pressure and dissolution from super hot ground waters that partially dissolved it into a silica solution, forming large boulders. Much of the material retains fuchsite's emerald green coloring, but can also be found in lighter shades of green.
