SANIDINE SPECIMENS
Sanidine is a high-temperature form of potassium feldspar, a glassy mineral found in volcanic rocks like rhyolite and trachyte, forming phenocrysts (large crystals) in rapidly cooled lava. It's known for its monoclinic crystals, perfect cleavage, and vitreous luster and is often colorless, white, or yellow. In some cases, sanidine, along with other feldspars, displays an adularescent effect like that seen in moonstone. It's crucial in ceramics as a flux to lower melting points in ceramic production.
