STICK AGATE SPECIMENS
Stick agate refers to agate formations that develop in cavities or fractures already hosting pre-existing mineral crystal shapes, preserving their elongated, stick-like structure as silica minerals later deposit around them. These forms occur when mineral crystals dissolve or transform, allowing layered chalcedony to replace or coat them, sometimes creating solid rods, branching forms, or hollow tubes. Some varieties may form as pseudomorphs, where silica takes on the shape of another mineral, and hollow forms can occasionally contain druzy quartz or crystalline pockets when cut and polished.
