Rare, Ordovician Starfish (Urasterella) Fossils - Oklahoma
This is a pair of rare, partial Middle Ordovician, fossil starfish (Urasterella sp) from the Bromide Formation of Oklahoma. It is part of a pocket that was collected some time ago (I believe decades) and very little starfish material has been recovered outside of this pocket. The larger of the two is 2.2" wide.
While the species was not described the occurrence of these starfish was mentioned in the paper linked below.
