1.7" Ordovician Starfish Fossil With An Edrioasteroid - Morocco
This is a 1.7" wide, Ordovician-aged starfish (Petraster?) from the Tiouririne Formation near Kaid rami, Morocco. The orange coloration is natural and due to the oxidation of iron. It appears to have a crust of minerals over the top of much of it.
There is an Edrioasteroid likely of the genus Spinadiscus, and the pygidium of a trilobite, both of which are naturally associated with the starfish.
It comes with an acrylic display stand.
