1.75" Fossil Oyster (Inoceramus) - Minnesota

This is 1.75" wide oyster (Inoceramus) fossil from the Coleraine Formation in Calumet, Minnesota. Both halves of the oyster are present and well-preserved. The oyster has been prepared free of the rock it was found in. Based on the look of the oyster and the location where it was found this oyster could be either I. mesabiensis or I. prefragilis.
