10.1" Limestone With Disarticulated Fossil Mosasaur Bones & Jaw
This is a 10.1" wide limestone plate containing a naturally associated assemblage of mosasauroid bones, collected from the Upper Cretaceous, Early Turonian deposits near Asfla, Morocco, north of Goulmima. The material may represent Tethysaurus nopcsai, a small and relatively primitive mosasauroid known from this region.
The plate preserves an impressive concentration of skeletal material, including multiple vertebrae and several cranial elements. Most notably, it contains a partial jaw section with a series of small teeth still preserved in place. The close association of these elements makes this a particularly interesting specimen, offering a much more complete glimpse of the animal than the isolated bones more commonly encountered.
It is accompanied by an acrylic display stand.
