10.3" Fossil Stingray (Heliobatis) With Diplomystus - Wyoming

This is a beautiful, 10.3" long fossil stingray (Heliobatis radians) from the Green River Formation in Wyoming. These rays are one of the more rare fossils from the Green River and are highly coveted by collectors for their beauty and rarity.

The preservation on this ray is particularly nice and unlike most rays it has not been inlayed into another piece of stone. There is also a small, fossil fish (Diplomystus) associated with it on the rock. It comes with a display stand or we can add a backing and wall hanger upon request.

Heliobatis is an extinct genus of freshwater ray primarily known from the Green River Formation in Wyoming. The teeth are triangular and shaped for feeding on small fish, crustaceans, and mollusks.
