10.8" Starfish (Petraster?) Fossil Multiple Plate - Morocco

This is a 10.8" wide section of rock from the Ordovician aged Tioririne Formation, containing a cluster of three fossil starfish probably of the genus Petraster. The orange coloration is natural and due to the oxidation of iron.

Three edrioasteroid fossils likely of the genus Spinadiscus can also be found scattered around the rock. There is some minor crack repair through two of the starfish where sections of the rock broke free during collection.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.
