11.25" Fossil Aquatic Reptile Bones in Rock - Asfla, Morocco

This is an 11.25" wide section of rock containing an assemblage of naturally associated aquatic reptile bones, collected from the Upper Cretaceous (Early Turonian Stage) deposits of Asfla, Morocco, north of Goulmima. One of the exposed vertebra centrums appears to be from a mosasaur (Tethysaurus nopcsai), though it's tough to tell if the remaining bones are from the same reptile or not.

There are several described aquatic reptile species from this area, including the pliosaur, Brachauchenius lucasi; the plesiosaurs Thililua longicollis, Libonectes atlasense, and Manemergus anguirostris; and the well known mosasaur, Tethysaurus nopcsai.

Comes with an acrylic display stand.
