16.5" Plate of Eight Leaf Fossils - Glendive, Montana

These are eight fossil leaves from the Fort Union Formation near Glendive, Montana. The rock contains two Davidia antiqua leaves (#5), a Ficus sp. (Fig) leaf (#7), two Betula stevensoni leaves (#27), a Beringiaphyllum leaf (#30), a huge Platanus nobilis (sycamore) leaf (#37) and an unidentified leaf (#50). The dark orange/brown preservation contrasts well against the shale, and many of the details in the leaf can be seen in good relief. There may be some touchups to the surface of the leaf where some of it flaked onto the negative during collection.

The entire specimen measures 16.5 x 13.8" and includes a metal (rebar) display stand.
