2.8" Fossil Laurel Leaf (Persea) - Green River Formation, Utah

This is an Eocene aged fossil leaf of Persea coriacea, a member of the laurel family. The leaf is 2.8" long and is centered on a piece of shale. It is nicely preserved with crisp edges and a nice dark brown color.

It comes from the Green River Formation in Uintah County, Utah. While this formation is best known for well-preserved fossil fish found in Wyoming, other sections of the formation contain very diverse flora and insect fauna.

Comes with an acrylic display stand.
