2.8" Miniature Fossil Cluster (Ammonites, Bivalves, Urchins) - France

This is an exquisite cluster of small marine fossils (ammonites, bivalves, brachiopod, and urchins) which have been prepared using acid-etching techniques. The detail of these small marine fossils is amazing and it's a very displayable piece. These miniature fossils clusters were discovered a few years back in France, near the Austrian border. I haven't seen them on the market anywhere else. They are Jurassic in age (Oxfordian Stage), or approximately 159 million years old.

The identifiable species include:

Ammonites - Cardioceras sp. & Campylites sp.
Bivalves - Trigonia densicostata, Pecten subfibrosus & Cucullaea concinna sp. nov.
Brachiopod - Thurmanella thurmani
Urchins - Polydiadema superbum & Nucleolites micraulus

The entire cluster measures 2.8 x 2.15" and has been mounted to an acrylic display base with a high-quality hot glue to ensure the specimen makes it to you in one piece.
