2.9" Starfish (Petraster?) & Edrioasteroids (Spinadiscus) - Morocco
This is a 2" wide, Ordovician aged starfish of the genus Petraster that's associated with multiple edrioasteroids of the species Spinadiscus lefebvrei. It comes from the Tioririne Formation near Blekus, Morocco. The specimen shows an amazing amount of detail and the natural, orange coloration is due to the oxidization of iron pyrite.
There are multiple repaired cracks where the rock broke. The center of this starfish has some surface restoration where the rock broke through the middle.
